We all know that idols are multi-talented individuals and have competitive instincts to fight and be recognized as the best in the Kpop world. With the summer Olympics right around the corner, we wanted to take time to point out some of the most athletic idols. This a continuation from part one of our series highlighting athletic Kpop idols.
Choi Min Ho
It isn’t a surprise to his fans that he is an athletic individual with a competitive spirit as Minho is the son of a well-known South Korean soccer coach. The SHINee member has won more events than any other idol on Let’s Go! Dream Team. He was also the idol to beat during Idol Star Athletics Championship dominating in track and field events like high jump and hurdles. Thanks to other variety shows like Cool Kiz On The Block and Idol Futsal World Cup Competition, Minho was able to continue to showcase his skills. He has even been able to show his athleticism through acting in drama To The Beatufiul You, where he played a high jump prodigy.
Yang Yo Seob
Beast’s Yoseob is another idol that is pretty good at soccer like his bandmate, Doojoon. Yoesob has been on several variety shows to showoff his soccer, and other athletic skills. Not only is he a great soccer player, but he is also a great boxer. What started out as a hobby quickly became something serious. Yoseob now has a dream of becoming a professional boxer.
Leo
The quiet member of VIXX, Leo, is a well-known idol sportsman. Before he debuted, Leo achieved level four in Tae Kwon Do, won swimming and boxing competitions, and was a member of the National Youth Soccer team in Korea. Leo was also a member of the idol soccer team on the special episode of Running Man and was able to meet his idol, Park Ji Sung, a retired Manchester United and Korean national team soccer player.
Bora
Sistar’s Bora, one of the sexiest female idols, has way more to offer fans other than a pretty face. Bora is actually extremely competitive and athletic. During Idol Star Athletics Championship she quickly showed that she is a queen at archery and is a track star mastering sprints and hurdles. Bora has also shown that she can play volleyball equally well during an appearance on Cool Kiz On The Block.
Kim Dong Jun
Dongjun, ZE:A member, has been active from a very young age as athleticism runs in his family. His mother was a track and field star in Korea. Thanks to shows like Idol Star Athletics Championship, Dream Team, and Cool Kiz On The Block, he has been able to show his athletic abilities in sports like badminton, track and field, archery, and soccer to name a few. When it comes to physical activity, Dongjun is hands down an ace.
Solji
No one is surprised at Solji’s musical talents; she is an amazing vocalist in EXID. But, what may surprise some people is her athleticism. She proved that she has great concentration and a competitive mind this year during the Idol Star Athletics Championship. Solji won gold in both archery and wrestling.
Kim Jun Su
One of the most multi-talented idols, Junsu of JYJ is a force to be reckoned with. He is a very athletic person and took his love of soccer to a whole other level. Junsu heads up FC MEN, an all-star subunit of a South Korean soccer team organized by himself and his celebrity friends. Junsu states that this team also promotes social responsibility and philanthropy.
