After a year and three months since their last mediocre mini-album So Good, T-ara makes a fantastic comeback with three heartwarming tracks to melt the frosty winter. Remember returns to T-ara’s roots, with hooky melodies and mellifluous vocals traversing between pop, ballad, and fusion numbers, much like their early day albums. Since one of my biggest disappointments with their last EP is the lack of T-ara’s unique flavor, I’m quite pleased to find that the girls found their way back with what they do best.
Track 1 – TIAMO
Remember opens with a loving number quite literally given its title and the repeated heartfelt “I only want you, Ti Amo” during the chorus. This earworm pop ballad track is filled with hooky parts that make it instantly recognizable. Its soothing tune and T-ara’s tender voices together create a harmonious and dreamy world to get lost in.
Track 2 – 오늘까지만 아파할 거야 (Prism)
Prism dials up the sentimental mood with its beautifully melodic and memorable composition accompanied by mellow piano chords and doleful acoustic guitar strings. The girls give their best vocal delivery filled with sorrow as they tell themselves that they will stop feeling the pain after today.
Track 3 – 이별 영화 (Farewell Movie)
The next song picks up in tempo again and throws in upbeat synths to bring the crisp piano riffs to life. Though the melody is catchy and thoroughly enjoyable, Farewell Movie is a fairly standard girl group pop ballad number that lacks just a tad of originality.
