Seventeen – ‘Very Nice’ Album Review

The popularity of the Seventeen boys is no joke as they’ve achieved a lot within their first few months. Seventeen gives out more love as they add more tracks to their already popular First Love&Letter album. The five new tracks include the album’s title track, Very Nice, which when released on the V app received a million hearts. We already did a review on the first release of the album, now let’s check what Seventeen has in store for us with the additional tracks.

Track 1 – NO F.U.Nfeel3

NO F.U.N seems like a crossover of hip hop and pop, with hollow, swaggy synths and a catchy melody with some fun doo-wops. The chorus has a similar vibe to their hit track, Mansae, which I think gives them their very own signature. However, the mixed elements made me confused on what the song wants to be; I think it would’ve been better if they made it into a full hip hop track.

Track 2 – 아주 Nice (Very Nice)feel4

Very Nice is the title track, and it is indeed very nice. The boys treat us to a fun dance track with some jazzy brass and synths, funky strings, impressive falsettos, and a catchy chorus. After listening to this, you’ll no doubt find yourself singing “aju nice” while dancing to it.

Track 3 – 힐링 (Healing)feel4

Healing is a cute boy-next-door type of song with some funky guitar and the crystal clear falsetto I loved from the previous track. Healing sounds like your perfect summer getaway track, just a bit softer.

Track 4 – Simplefeel4

The cutie vocal and songwriter, Woozi, takes over with his own solo track, Simple. It’s a mid tempo easy listening track with some dreamily sweet piano and subtle electric guitar to complement Woozi’s cozy vocals. Woozi’s soothing voice could definitely make a non-fan idolize him after listening to it.

Track 5 – 끝이 안보여 (Can’t See The End)feel3

A suave song is the last track added to the album. Can’t See The End starts off with some coffee shop-inspired piano, then becomes a pop lounge song with a smooth beat and some finger snaps. I feel that the soft piano tries to keep up with the rap when it should be slow and relaxing. Though I do appreciate the unusual elements, the rap felt out of place.
