Heads up! There’s a new boy group in town. Seven O’Clock is a six member boy group formed by Staro Entertainment. Debuting with Butterfly Effect, the boys show us so much potential, starting on their journey to success.
Track 1 – 시계바늘 (Echo)
Butterfly Effect starts off well with the title track Echo. It sounds like another version of BTS’ song Blood, Sweat, and Tears because of its similar musical elements. The intro does remind me of modern western pop songs, but Seven O’Clock put their own identity into it through their low voice rap and clear vocals.
Track 2 – Time Machine
Time Machine starts with some relaxing acoustic guitar and finger snaps. Some playful jazzy synths and horns, along with dreamy piano and chimes, come in as the boys sing lovingly with their half-air vocals. The track overall was just a joy to listen to while unwinding.
Track 3 – Halley
Halley sounds just like BTS’ songs Save Me and Run with the familiar mid-tempo beat and arrangement. The only thing that separates this from Save Me is the upbeat bridge with the claps. Other than that, it’s like I’ve heard this song before.
Track 4 – 그래 그랬어 (Yesterday)
Yesterday is a pop acoustic ballad with a mid-tempo beat, adorned with dreamy vocals. Yesterday is surprisingly refreshing and helped me move on from the previous track.
Track 5 – 시계바늘 (Echo) (Inst.)
