This post is by guest writer Jara Rowe.

Recently, Jay Park and Ugly Duck teamed up for a swaggering rap mini album, Scene Stealers. These two are already one of the favorite duos from AOMG, collaborating on hits like Mommae. Staying true to their rap roots, Jay Park and Ugly Duck are coming through to steal the Korean hip hop scene.

Track 1 -ㅎㄷㄷ (Put’em Up)feel4

Kicking off with a dark tinkling sound, Put’em Up quickly switched over to a hard hitting beat. This is a raw track with a subtlely powerful instrumental with trap beats. The rap style is fresh, with hints of new age rap ebbs and flows. With a catchy chorus and a repetitive but extremely unique flow in the verses, Put’em Up sets the listener up for an undoubtedly great rap album.

Track 2 – 우리가 빠지면 Party가 아니지 (Ain’t No Party Like An AOMG Party)feel5

Ain’t No Party Like An AOMG Party opens with a unique intro that has a jazz-meets-circus vibe. There are a lot of different audio layers, but they somehow come together and make a harmonious hip hop track. What stands out the most is hearing the difference in the verses from the two rappers — they have different interpretations of the beat. This is definitely a track for the club.

Track 3 – PLPfeel3

PLP, meaning parking lot pimping, is a noisy hip hop track, perfect to play in a dance club. The instrumental is full of elements that keep the energy up. Even though this song features Far East Movement, PLP is weaker than the previous tracks. I’m guessing this was more of a feel good and fun song rather than trying to showcase the rappers’ abilities.

Track 4 – Nowherefeel4

With a stylistic dark vibe, Nowhere, produced by Cha Cha Malone, moves away from the club tracks. Jay Park kicks off the verses with a trendy and cliché flow but changes about 50 seconds into the song to something more individualistic. The standout verse goes to Ugly Duck, however. The bridge in Nowhere is also great and memorable. This track is a nice change in pace from the first three.

Track 5 – 니가 알던 내가 아냐 (Who You Remix)feel4

One of the standout tracks from Show Me The Money 5 is next with Who You (remix). This time, AOMG artists Jay Park, Ugly Duck, Loco, and Simon Dominic are spotlighted in the song along with Show Me The Money 5 contestant, DayDay. The crew exclaims the person they were once before no longer exists over a sick beat that you can’t help but nod your head to. Who You (remix) has a simple chorus that’s easy to follow but still powerful, and is a great track to close out Scene Stealers.

Track 6 – 우리가 빠지면 Party가 아니지 (Ain’t No Party Like An AOMG Party) (Clean Ver.)
