Dreamcatcher left quite a deep impression with their previous anime-inspired J-rock album Nightmare, reaching new records with their complete image overhaul. The girls make a quick comeback to strike the iron while it’s hot, continuing their well-received gothic dark fairy concept and their spooky music video in latest album Fall Asleep in the Mirror. Dreamcatcher once again shows that they’re tough to beat by breaking the usual kpop girl group image and delivering eerily beautiful sounds.
Track 1- My Toys (Intro)
My Toys starts off mysteriously with rhythmic beat and haunting foot steps. It turns into an all-out rock song that is then simmered down again as it ends. Dreamcatcher surely knows how to tease your appetite with what’s about to come in Fall Asleep in the Mirror.
Track 2- Good Night
Continuing the J-rock anime theme song vibe from their previous album, Good Night sounds close to a punk rock track with edgy guitar riffs and pounding drum beats backing strong vocals. The low-pitched rap and the sweet and subtle bridge sections provide unexpected yet balancing contrast to this whole head banging track.
Track 3- Lullaby
Lullaby sounds more calm than the previous tracks with its soft piano notes that is later joined by beats in the second verse. The vocals sound ethereal in this one as the backtrack isn’t nearly as overpowering. The high notes and ad libs sound heavenly, adding more sweetness to the already entrancing track.
Track 4- Good Night (Inst.)
