The seven boys of BTOB recently released their 10th mini-album, Feel’eM. While allowing the vocal line and rap line both to shine, these five sophisticated and stylish tracks sample and mix various genres like funk, jazz, and hip hop. With Feel’eM, BTOB is able to demonstrate just how versatile they really are and how much they’ve grown as a group now carrying the torch for Cube Entertainment.
Track 1 – 말만 해 (Just Tell Me)
BTOB opens Feel’eM with an electro-funk number titled Just Tell Me. This upbeat and fun track also gives room for the groups’ stellar vocals and rapping to permeate through. Although there is a constant booming beat, this song is an easy listen and a nifty mood setter for what is to come.
Track 2 – Movie
Movie is a jazz influenced track that turns things groovy. It’s an upbeat dance tune with dynamic and prominent instrumentals such as synthesizer and piano sounds in the backtrack. Movie offers equal part jazz lounge nostalgia, and contemporary vibes through its autotune and edgy raps. Its lively composition, playful execution, and energetic vocals will definitely put a smile on your face as you jam along with it.
Track 3 – About Time
About Time is a complete style change from the previous tracks. This is a soft, acoustic guitar-based number that allows one to slowly drift away. The vocals glide effortlessly over a constant clapping sound. About Time is a tranquil track that allows for the groups voices to be the main focus.
Track 4 – 빨리 뛰어 (Rock N Hiphop)
The tone is set immediately upfront with unique synthesizer riffs in Rock N Hiphop. This is an addicting R&B track with hints of modern day hip hop beats for a bumpin’ atmosphere. The vocal is crisp and the rap line is full of swagger making this a track full of flavor and soul.
Track 5 – 언젠가 (Someday)
Feel’eM is closed out with one of BTOB’s specialties, a heartfelt ballad. Someday is a calm and bluesy track that really allows for the sentimental emotions to show. The subtle drums in the distance works well in the rap section as the flow tides that beat. Someday is one of the best vocal performances on the album, as the vocal line belts out their heart.
