Blanc7, a seven member rookie group under Jackpot Entertainment is stepping into the music scene with their first album, Prism, which is also the name of their fanclub. So how is it? Well, Prism is not bad of a start, but needs a bit more polish to be put up against other groups in the competitive world of Kpop entertainment.
Track 1 – Reflects the Light
A heartwarming piano solo starts the album with Reflects the Light. Instrumental fanatics will love this one which is purely musical enjoyment. A little bit of adlibbing would have made this song better but I think it’s a nice song as it is.
Track 2 – Yeah
Yeah is the next track of the album that starts off nicely with mellow synths, then becomes a dance track with a pounding beat overlaid with distorted synths, giving it a hint of trap music. The chorus and rap sound a bit off from the verse because of the change in tempo. If the tempo from the chorus just went on for the verse, it would have been a bingo for their debut track.
Track 3 – Fire
Low and mellow piano notes open up Fire. The gloomy piano works well with highlighting the vocals of Blanc7. It’s simple yet not bland because of the boys’ on point high notes.

Track 6 – Fire (Urban Dance Version)
Fire plus some light synths and backbeat equals the Urban Dance Version. Though I think that the beat for the verse is too thin, the chorus is as pretty as the original version. They added a bit of an EDM dance break after the rap which dragged on a bit, then suddenly the track gets mellow again. The transition from the EDM part to the pre-chorus is quite a mess with the sudden change in tempo.
