Get ready to enter the Pink Revolution with Apink. The girl group released their third full album with songs composed and written by known composers such as Black Eyed Pilseung, Shinsadong Tiger, and their very own member, Chorong. With all the talents who worked on this album, this is one revolution you won’t forget.
Track 1 – 내가 설렐 수 있게 (Only one)
The title track, written by Black Eyed Pilseung, starts the album. Only one has similar elements as their previous track, LUV, but it’s more upbeat and has some added synths. This track made it to the top of the music charts upon its release.
Track 2 – Oh Yes
Oh Yes is an upbeat track that sounds more like their previous hit songs. This track features dreamy and subtle synths, rattles, and the high notes of Apink. However, unlike their other hit tracks, it’s not as catchy.
Track 3 – Boom Pow Love
Apink shows off their other side in this next track, Boom Pow Love. Apink’s vocals give it a relaxing vibe, and it also has a pinch of R&B. The repetition of the lyrics “Boom Pow Love” in a cheer-like manner adds more flavor to this sweet and spicy song.
Track 4 – Fairy
Fairy starts off with a gloomy piano that’s followed by the crystal clear vocals of Apink. The girls never fail to impress with their ballad tracks, as they reach impressive high notes at the chorus. The verse to chorus transition is beautifully made without the notes going out of place.
Track 5 – Drummer Boy
Drummer Boy has a pounding beat paired with Apink’s commanding vocals. The vocals then soften as they reach the chorus, which I think is the best part of the song. Other than that, Drummer Boy is just another track on Pink Revolution that’s just not as interesting as the previous songs.
Track 6 – To. Us
Chimes and synths welcome us to the next track, To. Us. Written by Apink’s own Park Chorong, this sweet track comes with a mid-tempo acoustic guitar and soothing high notes from the members. This heartwarming track is such a joy to listen to during cold winter days.
Track 7 – Ding Dong
Ding Dong is a mid-tempo soft ballad with a chill vibe to it, opening with light acoustic guitar riffs. Ding Dong was so relaxing that I just listened to it until the sweet track was over — no overwhelming beat and synths, just smooth and clear vocals.
Track 8 – Catch Me
Catch Me is the Korean version of their Japanese song, Brand New Days. This track is a pop song with an energetic beat. There’s still a hint of sweetness in the vocals, but it perks up as the catchy chorus approaches.
Track 9 – 네가 손짓해주면 (The Wave)
The last track on Pink Revolution is Apink’s gift to their fans on their 5th anniversary. Chorong helped write this soft rock ballad, as the girls say “thank you” to fans for being with them through the good times and the hard times. This is a beautifully written and composed track.
