We featured 8 of the most impressive choreographies by Kpop boy groups in 2015 earlier. The breathtaking dances would not be complete without the sassiness and charms of the girl group choreographies. These girl groups know how to bring sex appeal while remaining cute. Check out our selection of 8 of the most memorable girl group choreographies in 2015 (not in ranking order) for your viewing pleasure.
4Minute – 미쳐 (Crazy)
Filled with so much attitude and swag, the girls of 4Minute nail their badass choreography in Crazy. This dance is out of the ordinary for most girl groups because it’s a hard-hitting, super edgy, hip hop-flavored routine. The way the choreography flows smoothly with the line changes is also impressive. The girls do a great job at executing this unique and “crazy” uptempo dance routine with confidence.
9Muses – 드라마 (Drama)
9Muses‘ Drama dance routine isn’t as showy or challenging as some of the others mentioned on the list, but these girls make simple moves look sophisticated and elegant. The choreography thinks outside of the box by incorporating unusual floor work. There are also unique line changes that add interesting twists to this tidy and seductive dance.
f(x) – 4 Walls
f(x) made a highly anticipated and fantastic comeback with 4 Walls. The cornerstone dance style in this routine is called voguing — a style rarely seen among Kpop idol groups. The amount of detail that went into this choreography is astounding. I like that the choreography has feminine and dreamy moves without being overly sexy. If you’re looking for a routine that’s distinctive and visually appealing, you have found it in 4 Walls.
Gfriend – 오늘부터 우리는 (Me Gustas Tu)
Me Gustas Tu‘s choreography is youthful and girly but not overly cheesy. It features big swinging moves and frequent line changes as commonly seen in cheerleading dances. Although there are intricate sections that up the difficulty of the routine, Gfriend members never seem to be out of sync with each other. It’s a particularly noteworthy choreography for a girl group because removed all traces of overly suggestive moves you’d typically see in a Kpop performance.
Girls’ Generation – Lion Heart
A modern day flapper routine with lots of fun and swinging elements that would make anyone want to keep on watching, Lion Heart‘s choreography is as flashy and glamorous as it gets. This dance style performed as a group is pretty unique to the world of Kpop and these veteran ladies handle it well. The routine is classy and clean as I wouldn’t expect anything less from Girls’ Generation.
Fiestar – 짠해 (You’re Pitiful)
Fiestar makes the list with You’re Pitiful, a dance with creative and fresh elements that makes it one-of-a-kind. One of those standout elements being the use of many props including chairs, jackets, and even male dancers. The chair choreography is extremely unique and adds a lot of depth to the routine. Fiestar does a great job at executing this difficult dance while remaining charming and sexy.
Red Velvet – Dumb Dumb
As one of the most memorable dances of 2015, Dumb Dumb’s choreography is full of swag and sass. I like that the choreography isn’t overly girly but funky and energetic. This routine is equipped with old school moves and modern dance elements that make it exciting to watch. Interesting moves to match an interesting song, Red Velvet does not disappoint with their Dumb Dumb performance.
Twice – OOH-AHH하게 (Like OHH-AHH)
JYP’s latest girl group Twice steps up their game with debut hit Like OHH-AHH. This routine is teenage girl age appropriate and has many notable spunky moves including the “Ooh Aah” hip swing and the “huh” jump move. Twice leaves the strongest impression for me with an unforgettable edgy dance break during the bridge of the song. This choreography is also praised by many in the industry and covered by numerous other idol groups.
