Much to the fan’s relief, YG’s Winner finally makes a long-awaited comeback after losing popular member Nam Tae Hyun. The boys reestablish their authority in Kpop and on charts with a two-track mini-album titled Fate Number For. Known as a softer and more polished group compared to labelmate iKON’s edginess, both songs fully reflect Winner’s unique perspective in music — carefree revelry and nonchalant sentimentality. Set your mind free with the calming and hooky tunes of Fated Number For.
Track 1 – Really Really
A rhythmic and hooky EDM-inspired backbeat immediately captures your attention, which is further invigorated with an equally catchy melody. Add on Winner’s smooth vocals and statement-making raps, you’ve got a dance pop masterpiece in Really Really. The chorus is easily the most eargasmic part of the song.
Track 2 – Fool
Sonorous piano chords and the occasional distorted synths are the only backdrop to this R&B ballad number, Fool. The simple composition allows for the boys’ beautiful vocals and gliding falsettos to shine right through, effectively delivering the bleakness and regrets expressed in the song against the winding melody.
