I spent May 20-22 in Toronto, Canada at the Toronto Kpop Con 2016, otherwise known as TKC16. The event was organized by Pop Goes the World and was full of Hallyu goodness. The convention had everything from panels, to games, to YouTuber meet and greets, a showcase for dance crews, vendors, and of course Kpop performances by some of our favorite idol groups. The performers included VIXX, GFriend, Day6, and GOT7 (who were the headliners performing on Saturday and Sunday night). Couldn’t make it in person? Relive the Toronto Kpop Con performances with us below.
Here are the headliners themselves, the hip hop talents of GOT7!
GOT7
GOT7 were the headliners of Toronto Kpop Con performing both Saturday and Sunday nights. There stages were the same both nights minus different outfits and fan interaction games. The boys opened with their debut song, Girls Girls Girls, followed by their hit songs Stop Stop It and If You Do. The thing that took everyone by surprise and elevated their performances to new heights was JB’s presence! JB has not been able to attend many of the groups activities recently due to an injury, but he was able to come to Toronto. The leader wasn’t able to dance, but he sat in a chair and sang live with the other six members.
We all know that GOT7 is made up of lovable and lively boys and they didn’t disappoint during their fanmeet. The boys pretty much took over the talking sections of the show and took them in the direction that they wanted. Bam Bam stated that one of his dreams was to dab with a moose, which he did later that night by googling an image of a moose and posing for a photo. During the fan interactions, they also played the pedometer game.
During their encore stage, the theatre became a party. The boys performed a remix of A which was a crowd pleaser. GOT7 put on two great stages; these boys never disappoint.
If you could have a weekend with these idols at Toronto Kpop Con, which groups would you pick? Tell us in the comments below!
