One of best parts of Korean drama is how fun and silly they can be. When it comes to comedy, Kdrama does not hold back and you can often experience rib-cracking laugh out loud moments from some of the best actors. In no particular order, here are some of our favorite laugh out loud Kdrama incidents.
The Office Rap Battle
Anyone who has seen this drama will agree that this is indeed an unforgettable comic point as Ji Sung and Hwang Jung Eum take their ridiculous childishness to new heights. This scene is memorable for a lot of reasons, but the foremost of which is how seriously into the rap battle both are, despite the location.
The GD Music Video
Surplus Princess (2014)
For those who watched this totally convivial rom-com series, you will agree that almost every moment in this drama induces laughter. However, the most memorable scene has to be Kim Min Kyo’s short GD Crooked MV parody after he finds out that his crush on the mermaid girl is completely one sided. The combined elements of surprise and mimicry makes it all the more fun to watch.
The Hangover Frenzy
My Love From the Star (2013)
If you have seen this drama, you will definitely remember the scene where Cheon Song Yi drunk-dials Do Min Joon and then realizes the morning after. Her embarrassment is palpable and priceless as she tries to figure out whether or not he received her message. This is definitely a top favorite moment in the drama for most viewers.
The Morning After
There is no doubt that the two actors involved in this scene are famous goofballs and expert slapstick creators. So having them together in a crazy drunken night and morning after scene is indisputably an uproarious moment in the drama. It’s particularly outlandish because of the relationship they have, and Jin Sang’s innate fear of Park Soo Kyung.
The Shampoo Commercial
Fated to Love You (2014)
This scene is particularly memorable because it’s at the very beginning of the drama. Lee Gun tries to teach the art of acting in an advertisement with his weirdly boisterous laugh and eccentric behaviors. It’s nothing short of entertaining to watch him give such a jaw-dropping performance filled with bizarre absurdity so early on.
The Wake Up Call
Secret Garden (2011)
For many people, this classic drama contains so many notable moments. But one of the best scenes has to be when our couple wakes up realizing that their bodies have been switched. The mixture of shock, confusion, and fear on their faces and their opposite sex demeanors are extremely amusing to watch. I still find myself randomly remembering and giggling about this moment years later.
The Untimely Packages
This scene is undoubtedly a high point for people who are more interested in the romance of our couples. It portrays our beloved soldiers as ordinary men in relationships who face the wrath of their female counterparts, as opposed to the macho image they maintained for the better part of the drama. The guys’ subtle “oh crap” facial expressions make this a relatable and humorous
moment.
The Omurice Fiasco
Rooftop Prince (2012)
The early episodes of Rooftop Prince are especially comical because of the boys unfamiliarity with the modern world. As such, the whole sequence of events starting with their tasting of the foreign-looking omurice, to their over-the-top reaction to TV programming, to their shock towards the rice cooker voice, and finally putting out the fire and slicing the talking teddy bear, is as farcical as it can get.
The Poop Typhoon
Marriage Not Dating (2014)
This drama remains high on the list of best rom-coms ever made thanks to witty writing and ludicrous moments. Though the most impactful scene is when Jang Mi’s all-day stomach pain got the best of her and the satirical poop typhoon makes its debut in her pants right in front of the male lead. The whole situation is preposterous, sad and funny at the same time. But thankfully the drama artfully ties up this bold bathroom joke into a meaningful metaphor.
The Gag Show
The Girl Who Sees Smells (2015)
This drama has a natural setup for funny scenes — heroine Cho Rim’s dream is to become a comedian. So, hilarity soon ensues when she drags in Moo Gak, the most emotionless, unfeeling detective to be her partner in performing a gag show. Moo Gak’s deadpan face coupled with the skit’s extreme vocalizations (CHUUUEEEERRR~~!!!) create jarring yet side-splitting practice scenes.
